Tax Warning Toronto: 7 More Proposed Taxes
Toronto: Torontonians feeling the pinch of economic uncertainty need to be aware of a slew of new taxes being considered this fall by the City of Toronto. Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) Ontario Director, Kevin Gaudet, said "It is an especially bad time to be imposing more new taxes in Toronto. People are struggling and these new taxes will only worsen their troubles. The mayor already hit Toronto with three new taxes last year on top of hefty property tax hikes. Enough is enough". Ontario Deficit Fueled by Spending Addiction
The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) today responded to the Ontario government's Fall Economic Statement which announced Ontario will deliver a $500 million deficit, despite having increased taxes and having seen government revenues climb 42% in six years. Mayor, 12 Councillors and Four Staff Spent $42,000 in Quebec City
Toronto: The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) today released documents showing that Toronto taxpayers paid nearly $42,000 for Mayor Miller, 12 councillors and four staff to attend the Federation of Canadian Municipalities' (FCM) 71st annual conference and Big City Mayor's conference in Quebec City in May 2008.
