TaxFighter Award Ceremony Honouring Charmaine Stick
The TaxFighter Award is given out by the Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) to recognize Canadians who have made an outstanding contribution to the cause of taxpayer emancipation. This award has been given to lawmakers, media personalities, academics and average citizens who have stood out and stood up in fighting for limited and accountable government.
About the Recipients
Ms. Stick has partnered with the CTF to win multiple court fights to enforce The First Nations Financial Transparency Act and force leaders at the Onion Lake Cree Nation to disclose the band’s basic financial information and payments to chief and council. She also testified to a parliamentary committee in Ottawa and delivered more than 30,000 petition signatures to the prime minister’s office. Because of Ms. Stick, grassroots members of First Nations communities have been empowered to hold their leaders accountable.
About the Event
Please join us for an after-work reception in Regina on Tuesday, November 19, as the Canadian Taxpayers Federation gives the TaxFighter Award to Charmaine Stick. The event will honour Ms. Stick for her courageous struggle for accountability and transparency at the Onion Lake Cree Nation and First Nations communities across Canada.
