Contract Opportunity: Interim Ontario Communications Director

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation, Canada’s leading non-partisan, not-for-profit, citizens’ advocacy group dedicated to lower taxes, less waste and accountable government, has a 13-month parental leave contract opportunity for the position of Interim Ontario Communications Director.

Job Desription

The interim director can work out of either the Greater Toronto Area or Ottawa and will report to the CTF’s Vice President, Communications. The interim Ontario communications director will be the CTF’s principal representative and spokesperson in the province from March 1, 2021, to April 1, 2022.

The interim director oversees day to day communication with CTF staff, supporters, the media and public, as well as implementing public policy objectives and strategies for the CTF in Ontario.

The interim director should have experience in politics or public policy work, with a related university degree. Experience with media, public speaking, research, writing and campaign organization is a must.

The interim director must be a flexible and creative individual, prepared to work long hours and take initiative in a dynamic and often unpredictable work environment. Above all, the interim director must be enthusiastic and committed to the CTF’s mission: lower taxes, less waste and more accountable government.

Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and include bonuses to encourage completion of contract.
