Can Trudeau balance the budget?
CTF Federal Director provides six things the federal government could cut to balance its budget:
1. End corporate welfare: $3.2 billion;
2. End regional pork barrelling: $858 million;
3. Tie provincial transfers to inflation: $3.5 billion;
4. Reduce bureaucracy back to 2016 levels: $5.1 billion;
5. Cut Heritage Canada's budget: $650 million; and
6. Reduce foreign aid spending: $1.3 billion.
