Federal: Stop Bailing Out Government Employee Pension Plans

To Federal, Provincial and Municipal Politicians:

Taxpayers can't afford to keep paying billions of dollars each year to bailout government employee pension plans. Hundreds of thousands of government employees expect to retire, some as young as age 50, with guaranteed pensions for life, indexed to inflation, no matter how much money has been set aside in their pension funds to cover the payments.

We the undersigned urge our local, provincial and federal governments to reduce existing pension benefits, limit or eliminate annual increases, and raise eligibility ages, rather than bailing out government employee pension plans with taxpayers' money.

We further urge our local, provincial and federal governments, to replace guaranteed, indexed, lifetime pension entitlements for newly hired government employees, with matching dollar-for-dollar RRSP contributions.

You have the power to change who influences politics in our country: big unions, big corporations and government-funded special interest groups can be challenged by the contributions of thousands of individual taxpayers who care to make a difference.
