ON: End the Government’s Monopoly of Liquor!

Ontario

To the Premier and Finance Minister of Ontario:

Monopolies, whether public or private are never good for consumers and taxpayers. Ontario has the fewest alcohol retail shops per capita in North America. The LCBO monopoly on alcohol sales means restrictive hours, poor selection, and inconvenient locations. Beer will now be sold only in a few government approved grocery stores.

Ontarians are no less responsible than people from Quebec, New York State, or other jurisdictions that offer private liquor sales. It’s time the Ontario government treated us like adults and allowed more choice and selection in alcohol.

We, the undersigned call on the leaders of Ontario’s government to end the government’s liquor monopoly and allow more retailers to sell alcohol in Ontario.

You have the power to change who influences politics in our country: big unions, big corporations and government-funded special interest groups can be challenged by the contributions of thousands of individual taxpayers who care to make a difference.
