EDMONTON: The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) is pleased to announce the appointment of John Carpay as its new director and spokesman in the province of Alberta.

Dutch born, John grew up in the interior of British Columbia. He has a BA from Laval University in Quebec and a law degree from the University of Calgary. John fills the vacancy left by Mitch Gray who left the Alberta provincial director's job in November, 2000. He will officially assume the role of provincial director at the CTF's press conference next Tuesday February 20th in Calgary unveiling a study proposing the elimination of provincial income tax.

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is Canada's leading taxpayer advocacy organization. With offices in four provincial capitals and Ottawa the CTF fights for lower taxes, less waste and accountable government.
