A British Columbia crown CEO makes more than $450,000 annually to maintain just 40 km of railroads. Maureen Bader of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation and the opposition say it's outrageous.
A Comptroller General's report recommended that the head of BC Ferries get a pay cut. At $1.03 million, his salary was more than double that of other Crown CEOs. The report also said that VPs were paid too much. Maureen Bader, British Columbia Director for the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, calls the high salaries "unacceptable" and says the only way to avoid this is to make BC Ferries subject to Freedom of Information legislation.
