CTF's National Research Director Derek Fildebrandt says Canadians pay on average 37 cents tax on every litre of gas purchased. Derek says one area where governments should cut is their tax-on-tax. The GST and HST are applied not only to the actual cost of gas but as well on all hidden taxes buried in the price of gas.
