To the Premier of Alberta:
The average Alberta bureaucrat costs taxpayers $102,000 a year, and 10.3% more than their equivalent in the private sector. Bringing these salaries and benefits in line with the private sector would save taxpayers $1.4 billion a year.
Government “defined-benefit” pension plans are far richer than most retirements provided in the private sector, and all too often require a bailout by taxpayers.
We the undersigned call on the Alberta government to bring the pay, perks and pensions of government workers into line with the realities of the private sector.
