Scott Hennig of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation says that if Premier
Ed Stelmach had kept spending growth to the same rate as population
plus inflation, the province would run a $44 million surplus in fiscal
2009. Instead, the deficit will be $6.9 billion. Finance Minister Iris
Evans says that tough choies will be made. The AUCC fears that
