CTF calls for changes to Alberta MLA's housing allowance

Author: 1970/01/01

Alberta MLAs living outside Edmonton are provided a housing allowance for accommodation in Edmonton. The CTF is calling for changes after it was revealed Alberta MLA Derek Fildebrandt rented out his government subsided apartment on AirBnB. CTF interim Alberta Director Colin Craig said that changes need to be made to the rules to stop MLAs from profiting on their already taxpayer subsidized housing. Prior to entering Alberta politics, Derek Fildebrandt served as research director for the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.
